Friday, October 20, 2017
Geoff Capraro, a doctor at Rhode Island Hospital and professor at Brown University, wanted to make a change in public health, giving the public access to Naloxone if someone was overdosing from opioids.
With multiple grants, including one from the Rhode Island Department of Health, Capraro and a team of designers created NaloxBox.
Each NaloxBox has four doses of the opiate overdose reversal drug naloxone, along with a mask, gloves, additional information and how to get addiction treatment.
