When it comes to celebrating dad, Andrea McHugh of Discover Newport says there is no shortage of activities to do with the family on Aquidneck Island.

McHugh says that dads get in free on Father's Day to the recently opened Newport Car Museum in Portsmouth. Regular admission for adults is $18.

The museum consists of more than 50 cars, including Corvettes, Fords, World Cars and more.

McHugh says the Cliff Walk and Ballard Park are always popular destinations if you want to take dad for a walk on Father’s Day.

For the quintessential Rhode Island family, McHugh says grab lunch at Benjamin’s on Thames Street.

She suggests trying the  “Mother Shucker” platter which includes 12 oysters, 12 littleneck clams, 12 shrimp, two king crab legs and two chilled lobster for $100.
