UVA’s Lawless on Ivanka Trump’s Email Problem, Pelosi’s Power Play, and More, on LIVE
Wednesday, November 21, 2018
University of Virginia Professor of Political Science Jennifer Lawless joined GoLocal News Editor Kate Nagle on GoLocal LIVE, where she spoke to Nancy Pelosi’s fight to be the next Democratic Speaker of the House, what to look for in the Senate runoff election in Mississippi — and the revelation that Ivanka Trump had been found to have used her personal email to conduct official business.
"I think it speaks to the broader hypocrisy -- if this was such an important issue to Donald Trump and if he genuinely believed that Hillary Clinton had threatened national security and deserved to be in prison not only for using a personal server but also not being fully aware of what she was doing, then it’s hard to imagine how he can defend this behavior,” said Lawless. “Granted Ivanka is not Secretary of State but she was transmitting information that probably shouldn’t have been transmitted on a personal email device."
