Dr. Golf Might Have the Answers to a Better Game—and Business Success
Sunday, November 12, 2023
Dr. Golf might have the answers to your questions -- and the questions he can help you tackle can range from the golf course to the next stress-driven business meeting.
We live in a period of constant interruption, with social media, emails, and media bombardment. The ability to focus is a critical skill and a competitive advantage on the golf course or in business.
Dr. Golf is Richard J. Goldberg. M.D. He is a professor (emeritus) of Psychiatry & Human Behavior at the Warren Alpert School of Medicine of Brown University. He is a distinguished Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association; he has published over 100 peer-reviewed articles and six books.

Those credentials helped to create his decade-long transformation into a leading golf guru working to help golfers play better and help those leverage the lessons of concentration and focus on other aspects of life and work.
He has forged an expertise from a lifetime of golf, personal inquiry, and professional work. “Throughout my 45-year career in psychiatry, I learned how people can change and grow. During 25 years of competing in marathons and triathlons, I gained a personal understanding of how to mobilize performance psychology. For the past 50 years, I’ve thoughtfully engaged with meditation, mindfulness, and the study of Eastern philosophies, all of which provide invaluable skills that can help golfers of every level,” said Goldberg.
