RI Festival of Children’s Books & Authors to Take Place October 19

The RI Festival of Children's Books and Authors will be held at the Lincoln School in Providence on Saturday, October 19 from 9 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
“Rhode Island may be the smallest state, but it boasts one of the largest and best book festivals in the nation. Thousands of people come to the Book Festival each year to meet acclaimed authors and illustrators from all corners of the country,” writes the Lincoln School in their press release.
Admission to the festival is $5.

This year’s festival features well-known authors and illustrators including Vanessa Brandley-Newton, James Dean, Angie and Tony DiTerlizzi, Lynda Mullally Hunt, Torrey Maldonado, Megan McDonald, Oge Mora, Dan Santat, John Rocco, Matt Tavares, and Jumanji author Chris Van Allsburg.
Children and their families will have the opportunity to meet and talk to the authors, have their books signed, participate in bookmaking and other crafts.
The festival is also working with the Game Theater to bring McDonald’s book “Judy Moody and Stink and the Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad Treasure Hunt,” to life for a Friday night performance.
