Michael Flanagan

The Michael H. Flanagan Foundation will be hosting "A Night of Thanks and Giving" on Friday, November 14, at Rhode Island Country Club.

The event is being held to highlight those who have helped the foundation in meeting its mission in 2014, which is to comfort leukemia and bone marrow transplant patients and their families -- and will include a silent auction and raffle, with music by Sunset Punch.  Tickets start at $75.

The Foundation was established by the Flanagan family in 2002.  Michael was diagnosed with leukemia at age 19, before undergoing two bone marrow transplants during his three year battle.  The mission of the Foundation is to provide comfort to patients and families through financial grants, comfort bags, and capital projects such as family rooms and infusion chairs.

About Michael

Michael was a sophomore at Providence College when he was diagnosed with leukemia. Spending weeks and sometimes months in isolation while struggling with complications, Michael strived to live a life of courage, integrity, and faith.

To keep Michael's memory alive, his family created the foundation to help other families faced with the same difficult journey.
