Latino Public Radio Makes Annual Appeal to Support Independent Journalism in RI

The Campaign for Latino Public Radio's programming fund is allowing LPRN to make "significant enhancements in its news; music and cultural programming live online."
"Latino Public Radio (LPR News) brings the news to anyone, everywhere - making local stories, even national stories. To bring these stories to life, LPR relies on the contributions of listeners. LPR would like to invite all fans and listeners to come together and support LPR through a year–end giving campaign," said LPR's Reynaldo Almonte.

The 2021 year-end is an opportunity for LPR to "rally support from avid listeners and friends as a way of funding meaningful public service built on journalism and human stories."
"As the only public media in the Spanish language in Rhode Island, and locally operated 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, Latino Public Radio has always relied on philanthropy as a source of funding. It is important to LPR that our community has access to quality programs and journalism they can trust," said Almonte. "LPR is committed to sharing the truth, to shining a light in those dark places and to educating and empowering everyone, regardless of their means."
"All year long, listeners have relied on LPR to hear, see and feel the stories that matter. Listeners influence that journalism, and together we make public radio community strong," he added.
LPRN airs national and International offerings from affiliate networks CNN, RFI, DW, ONU, VOA and LPR Sports Network. LPRN broadcasts a broad range of daily news, talk, cultural, music and classical music programming, while LPR maintains a stronger focus on breaking news and international news reporting.
