Angelo’s on Federal Hill Unveils New Dishes — and Drinks — For Summer

It calls itself “not your average Italian restaurant on Federal Hill.”

Now, Angelo’s — which has been on Atwells Avenue in Providence for nearly 100 years — has innovated again. 

During the pandemic, Angelo’s transformed into an indoor-outdoor restaurant with the installation of new windows for an enhanced dining experience

This week — it announced a number of new dishes and drinks to its classics for an updated seasonal menu. 

 

Angelo’s Summer Additions 

Angelo's announced the following on Wednesday for the summer of 2022: 

FOOD ITEMS 

* Cacio Corn: Sweet corn kernels sauteed in a cacio pepe sauce (butter, black pepper, and pecorino romano cheese)- similar taste profile to creamed corn.
* Burrata Caprese: Sliced tomatoes, Fresh Burrata Ball, and fresh basil from our garden topped with salt, pepper, oil, and a balsamic glaze.
* Watermelon Salad: Spinach, fresh watermelon, crumbled goat cheese, diced red onion, and house grown mint with a side of balsamic dressing.
* Rocket Salad: Arugula topped with shaved parmigiana cheese topped with a homemade lemon honey dressing.
* Milanese: A chicken or veal breaded cutlet baked in butter until golden and crispy, topped with fresh arugula, diced tomatoes, shaved parmigiana, and drizzled with a honey lemon dressing.
* Stato di Melanzane: Our original pan-fried eggplant layered with our house gravy and three-cheeses – fresh ricotta, mozzarella, and pecorino romano in a souffle ramekin, baked until gooey. Served with a side of garlic bread.
* Cavatelli alla Spicy Pink Vodka: Fresh Cavatelli sautéed in our red pepper infused pink vodka sauce.
* Crema di Mais Pasta:  Rigatoni sauteed with sweet corn and fresh basil in our creamy alfredo sauce.
* Buffalo Chicken Penne: Penne pasta sauteed in our new buffalo alfredo sauce with diced tomatoes, fresh spinach, and marinated grilled chicken.
* Lobster Ravioli: Six jumbo homemade ravioli stuffed with lobster and cheese in Chef Joe’s pink vodka sauce.
* Smoked Mozzarella Ravioli: Six (6) fresh jumbo ravioli stuffed with smoked mozzarella, roasted red peppers, and spinach in our house gravy.

LIBATIONS

* Peach Passion: Ketel One Orange Blossom & Peach Botanical Vodka, peach tree, Orange juice, and passion fruit with a chamoy tajin rim.
* Lemon Basil Martini: Deep Eddy’s Lemon Vodka and simple, shaken with ice and strained into a stemless martini glass, garnished with house grown basil.
* Summer Sangria: House Wine Rose, Bacardi White Rum, White Cranberry Juice, fresh watermelon and strawberries
* Limoncello Margarita: Mi Campo Blanco Tequila, Limoncello, citrus, and lemonade
* Passionfruit Mule: Tito’s Vodka, Passionfruit, lime juice, topepd with ginger beer.
* Watermelon Basil Lemonade: Muddled watermelon and basil with Tito’s Vodka and lemonade. Garnished with house grown basil
* Strawberry Mojito: Muddled strawberries and house grown mint, with sugar, lime juice, and Bacardi Rum, topped with soda water.
* Prosecco Pops: Housemade seasonal fruit popsicle in a glass of La Marca Prosecco.
* Orange Old Fashioned: Makers Mark, Orange Bitters, muddled orange and Luxardo Cherry, garnished with an orange peel.
