New research from Pew Research released this week unveils that online and mobile news sources have significantly surpassed both radio and newspaper and are closing in on TV. Now, 39% say they get their news from online and mobile and that growth is expected to shoot up significantly. Radio has dropped to only 33% and newspaper to only 29%.
The growth of U.S. digital news grew by 17% in the past year, according to a report by Business Insider, “Mobile readers go to news sites more often, spend more time per visit, and read more articles per visit than desktop readers.”
Overwhelmingly, consumers use their mobile devices to get news and to use social media.
GoLocal's Mobile 2.0 platform works with all major operating systems; Apple iOS 3.0 (their oldest operating system) has some limitations.
