RI Secretary of State Nellie Gorbea

RI Secretary of State Nellie Gorbea was elected by members of the Elections Infrastructure Information Sharing and Analysis Center (EI-ISAC) to serve on the EI-ISAC Executive Committee. The announcement was made Thursday afternoon during the group’s quarterly call.

EI-ISAC is funded by the Department of Homeland Security to protect the nation’s voting infrastructure. The group is a collaborative effort that provides state, local, and territorial election offices with an election-focused cyber defense suite. EI-ISAC gathers information on cyber threats and shares information to identify, prevent, respond and recover from attacks on election systems.

“Building and maintaining a secure elections infrastructure is vital to the health of our democracy,” said Gorbea. “Doing so requires an ongoing commitment on all levels of our government. I’m honored and excited to continue working with my fellow EI-ISAC members to assess and improve our country’s election systems.”
