Wiffle Ball Bragging Rights on the Line in SLAMDiabetes Bay Sox Classic

Wiffle ball bragging rights will be on the line on Saturday July 21, in the SLAMDiabetes Bay Sox Classic in New Bedford, Mass. 

12 teams will compete in the tournament, which will raise funds supporting Type 1 diabetes awareness. Teams will battle through 7-inning games in SLAMDiabetes' miniature stadiums, includiong a quarter-scale replica of Fenway Park. 

In addition to the Bay Sox Classic championship, there will be a Home Run Derby open for anyone to enter, a Kids Game, grilled burgers and hot dogs, silent auction and raffles, opening ceremonies, and special guests including former Red Sox star Rick Miller.

Tournaments in Providence and Boston in August and September, respectively, will round out the SLAMDiabetes 2012 summer Wiffle ball season. 

The 2013 season will begin in February on short rest, with tournaments in cities from Florida to Vermont.
