The top 32 amateur golfers in Rhode Island will play a bracket-style match play tournament to determine the 2014 RI Amateur champion.
120 players competed in a 36-hole stroke play qualifier at Montaup Country Club in Portsmouth, with the top 32 aggregate scores advancing to the 3-day match play tournament.
Jamison Randall of Alpine Country Club, Bobby Leopold of Wannamoisett Country Club, and Brad Valois of Metacomet Country Club shared medalist honors with 2-day totals of 1-under-par 141. 4 players made the cut on the number at 7-over-par 149.

Matches begin Wednesday morning at 7:30 a.m. and winners of the 16 morning matches will play second round matches Wednesday afternoon. The 8 quarterfinalists will then play Thursday morning, with the 4 winners playing in the afternoon to set up Friday morning's final.
With Montaup's difficult layout and a pair of 36-hole days ahead of them, it will take a championship performance to reach Friday's 36-hole final match.
