The Boston Bruins (20-13-4) fell 5-1 to the (22-15-3) Montreal Canadians on Friday afternoon in the 2016 NHL Winter Classic at Gillette Stadium. The loss prevented the Bruins from being able to take over first place in the Atlantic Division.

Despite the Bruins losing to their arch rival, the Winter Classic was once again a success.

The weather turned out to be near perfect, the set up of the event, both for those lucky enough to attend and those watching on TV was well done, and the fact the game came featured arguably the NHL's greatest rivalry helped as well.

The final attendance count says that 67,246 packed Gillette Stadium to watch a hockey game. The Bruins didn't win, but the game of hockey did.
