And so it begins. The quest for an NBA championship for the Miami trio began on the parquet floor of the TD Garden last night.
There is no doubt that Miami has as much great, young talent as any team in the league. But winning a championship is about more than having lots of talent. Chemistry, teamwork, unselfishness and a little bit of luck are all necessities if a team is to win. We will see if the Heat have all of that 8 months from now.

-Many football “experts” call the Jets and the Giants the best teams in the AFC and NFC respectively. Why? Because they both play great in the trenches on both sides of the ball.
-Theo Epstein had better have something special up his sleeve this off season because the Yankees will go hard after Cliff Lee and the Tampa Bay Rays aren’t going anywhere either.
-Do the Bruins dare trade Tim Thomas, who is playing so well, while his stock is high?
-Josh McDaniels could walk on water when his Broncos started the season at 6-0 last season. Since that time? Not so much.
-Brown battles Penn ion the gridiron n Philadelphia for sole possession of first place in the Ivy League on Saturday.
-The Miami Dolphins got hosed twice by the refs on Sunday. First, the blew the call on the Roethlisberger fumble, then they failed to give Miami the ball after they recovered it in the end zone.
-Syracuse football won its first meaningful game in many years last weekend when the Orange upset the Mountaineers in West Virginia.
-The Patriots inability to run the ball consistently will continue to haunt them this season.
-Think what you want about Brett Favre, but whether you love him or hate him, you still tune in to watch him play.
-I don’t care what Al Gore says, I’m all for global warming.
