Salve Fumbles Away Tournament Berth

Turnovers are the great equalizer in football.  Salve Regina learned that the hard way Saturday.

The Seahawks committed 5 turnovers (3 fumbles, 2 interceptions) and lost to Framingham State 28-16 in the New England Football Conference championship game Saturday in Framingham, Mass.

Down 14-10 at the half, the Seahawks committed all five of their turnovers in the second half preventing any chance of a comeback.

Dan Bounocore led Salve with 78 yards rushing.  Trey Scales had 67 yards receiving for the Seahawks who actually outgained the Rams 311-284 in total offense.  But it was the turnovers that led to their demise.

Despite the loss, Salve Regina compiled an impressive 9-2 record this season.
