Jack Andrade, GoLocalProv Sports Reporter
The Quarterfinals of the RIIL Boys' Basketball Divisional Tournaments are set, and Wednesday night will feature 12 playoff matchups in 6 gyms around the state. The winners of those games will meet in the Divisional Semifinals on Friday night, and those winners will meet in the championship games on Sunday.
After the Divisional Touraments, a 16 team Open Tournament will be played, featuring teams from all 3 Division levels. Open Tournament qualification is based off a season long system of points earned in league games. Division 1 wins are worth 1 point, Division 2 wins are worth 0.8 points, and Division 3 wins are worth 0.6 points. Teams that finished with strong enough records to earn a bye in the preliminary round of each Divisional Tournament (the Top 6 teams in each division) have been awarded a bonus point based off of their division.
