Rhode Island College Football Weekend Preview

Bryant is back in the National rankings and plays their first conference home game, Brown looks to get their first conference win and URI is still looking for their first win of the season. Here is a preview of this weeks Rhode Island College Football matchups.
Robert Morris at #25 Bryant, Saturday, October 25th, 1pm
The Nationally Ranked Bryant Bulldogs (5-1,1-0 NEC) return home on Saturday to host Robert Morris(1-6,1-1NEC) ) in their second conference game of the season. Bryant is off to their best start in program history and have made it into the National Rankings for the second time this year. Bryant sophomore Quarterback Dalton Easton has been tremendous this season, completing 86 of his 152 passes for 1093 yards and 12 touchdowns, five of them last week against St. Francis. Of those 86 completed passes, 26 of them have been to Chad Ward who leads the team with 436 yards receiving this year, averaging 72.7 yards per game, with four touchdown catches. In order to get to 2-0 in conference play, the Bulldogs will need these two to continue to light it up.
Robert Morris comes in off a win at home against Central Connecticut, their first win of the season. They need quarterback Derik Abbott to play well if they want to upset the Nationally Ranked Bulldogs. Abbott has six touchdown passes this year and 674 yards. After winning last week, Robert Morris hopes to continue to turn their season around.

Cornell at Brown, Saturday, October 25th, 12:30pm
The Brown Bears (2-3, 0-2 IVY) are back at home this Saturday for family weekend and a in conference battle with (0-5,0-2 IVY) Cornell. Both teams will be looking for their first conference win of the season and Cornell will be looking for their first win of the season.
Brown quarterback Marcus Fuller threw an Ivy league record 71 passes for 454 yards in last weeks loss and the Bears look for him to stay hot this week. Receiver's Troy Doles and Brian Strachan will need to try and duplicate what the did last week where they caught six and ten passes for 200 and 146 yards respectively. If Brown wins Saturday, expect these three guys to be prominent in the box score.
The Big Red come into Brown Stadium looking for their first win of the season and to do it they will need receiver Collin Shaw to play well. Last week against Lehigh, Shaw had four catches for 119 yards and a touchdown, his first career 100 yard game. Cornell's offense has really struggled this year, they put up 14 points last week and that was a season high.

Maine at URI, Saturday October 25th, 12pm
The University of Rhode Island Rams (0-7, 0-2 CAA) come home this weekend, after two straight road games, to host the (2-5, 1-3 CAA) Maine Black Bears.
For the Rams, Mack Lowrie will need to play well and eliminate mistakes. He has five touchdown passes on the year but also has five interceptions and a completion percentage of 54.1.The Rams will also need freshman running back Harold Cooper to continue to improve and then build off of what he did last week, which was run for 98 yards on 14 attempts. Cooper is averaging 114.3 all-purpose yards per game. If he can duplicate that, it could be a good day for the Rams.
Maine comes in with the fourth best scoring defense in the CAA, giving up 19 touchdowns on the season. On the offensive side, the Black Bears lead the conference in red zone efficiency with 90.9 percent. Dan Collins is their quarterback and has completed 77 of his 143 passes and nine touchdowns.
