Red Sox Rally to Beat Dodgers 9-4 in Game 4, Price to Start Game 5
Sunday, October 28, 2018
The Boston Red Sox rallied from four runs down in the seventh inning to beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 9-6 in game four of the World Series on Saturday night in LA.
The win comes hours after Boston lost to the Dodgers in an 18 inning, seven-hour marathon in game three.
"Sometimes in October we talk about mechanics, and how you feel at the plate and all that, (but) sometimes it's will. You will yourself to do great things. And it started very simple. A few good at-bats, and then the big swing, and we kept rolling and we didn't stop playing,” said Red Sox manager Alex Cora after the game.

The Red Sox are now just one win away from their eighth World Series title in franchise history.
Red Sox Rally
Trailing 4-0 in the seventh, Boston’s Mitch Moreland put the Red Sox back in the game with a three-run home run off Dodgers pitcher Ryan Madson to make it 4-3 Dodgers.
The home run was only Boston’s second hit of the game.
Now trailing 4-3 in the eighth inning, Steve Pearce belted a game-tying home run, before Rafael Devers signed home Brock Holt in the ninth to give the Red Sox their first lead of the game, 5-4.
The Red Sox would add to their lead in the ninth when Pearce would hit a three-run double to give Boston a 9-4 lead.
Pearce finished the game with two hits and four RBIs.
They would take that lead into the bottom of the inning when closer Craig Kimbrel would give up a two-run home run, before closing out the 9-6 win.
"We're not out yet. Our guys aren't done. We've got our best going tomorrow and we're expecting to win a baseball game,” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said after the game.
Price to Start Game 5
Game five of the series is set for Sunday, October 28 in Los Angeles.
The projected pitching matchup is Boston’s David Price against LA’s Clayton Kershaw.
The move to pitch Price in game five comes as a bit of a surprise given that Chris Sale was originally scheduled to make the start.
"We talk about it and he’s just, National League ballpark," Cora said. "He’s done it before. We hate thinking negative. But if it doesn’t happen, we got Chris lined up for Game 6 at home. We don’t have to pinch hit. We don’t have to do all that stuff that happens here. At the same time, we know that he can bounce back and go to the bullpen,” said Cora in his postgame press conference.
Game time is set for 8 p.m.
