Red Sox Rally Past Dodgers 4-2, Take 2-0 Lead in World Series
Thursday, October 25, 2018
The Boston Red Sox are two victories away from winning the World Series.
The Red Sox defeated the LA Dodgers 4-2 behind starting pitcher David Price to take a 2-0 lead in the World Series.
Price tossed six innings, giving up two runs and striking out five to pick up his second career postseason win.

Prior to game 5 against Houston in the ALCS, Price was 0 and 9 in postseason starts.
"I just tried to keep it the same. Same as in Houston, the same as in every other game. Don't put any added pressure or anything of that nature. Just go out there and throw strikes and execute pitches and rely on my defense, and that's what we were able to do," said Price after the game.
Cora said about Price, "The stuff was good the whole night. It's a matter of they've got good hitters. And it seemed like they made some adjustments the second time through the lineup. Started laying off pitches inside; he wasn't getting that call. He kept going to the two-seamer in to the righties, and they were close pitches but they were called balls. And it seems like they started looking for off-speed down in the zone, the changeup."
Red Sox Rally in 5th
Trailing 2-1 with two outs in the fifth inning, the Red Sox started a rally.
Cristian Vazquez started things off with a single to right field followed by a Mookie Betts single to center and then Andrew Benintendi worked an eight-pitch walk.
Dodgers pitcher Ryan Madson then walked Steve Pearce with the bases loaded to score a run and tie the game at two.
With the bases still loaded, JD Martinez singled to right field to score Betts and Benintendi and put the Red Sox ahead 4-2.
The Red Sox have scored a total of 68 runs in the postseason. Of those runs, 38 of them have come with two outs.
"Putting the ball in play in those situations is very important. I said it a few days ago, and I'll say it again we live in an era that .210 with 30 home runs and 70 RBIs is acceptable, it's a good season, and we don't believe that. There are certain situations that a strikeout is not just an out. And we put them in play, and they did again tonight, and that's why we won the game," said Cora.
Kimbrel came on and had a spotless ninth inning to seal the win.
The last ten teams to win the first two games of the World Series have gone on to win it all.
Game 3
Game three is set for Friday, October 26 in Los Angeles.
Game time is set for 8 p.m.
