Providence’s Demetrius Andrade wins WBO title

There's another world champion on the New England sports scene.
Providence's Demetrius "Boo Boo" Andrade (20-0, 13 KO) stayed undefeated and won his first world title Saturday night on HBO, beating Vanes Martirosyan (33-1-1, 21 KO) at the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, TX by split decision to claim the vacant WBO junior middleweight title.
The official call was a split decision for Andrade, a former US Olympian, who won on scores of 117-110, 114-113, and 112-115.

With the bout even most of the way, Andrade took the fight home down the stretch, as Martirosyan fought with no real sense of urgency and "Boo Boo" opened his game up a bit more, going to another level. It wasn't warp speed, but it was something that made the real difference.
The difference - was a world title. Statistically, Andrade vastly outlanded Martirosyan over the course of the fight.
