Providence suspends Austin, Bullock

Nothing like getting the new season off to an inauspicious start.
Providence College announced Wednesday morning freshmen basketball players Brandon Austin (Philadelphia, PA) and Rodney Bullock (Hampton, VA) have been suspended from game action indefinitely for not upholding their responsibilities as student-athletes.

“We hold our student-athletes to very high standards,” Coach Ed Cooley said. “We are disappointed in some of the choices that Brandon and Rodney have made. Due to this, we have decided to suspend them indefinitely from any game action.”
The Friars, who had starting point guard Kris Dunn leave last Saturday's exhibition game against Rhode Island College with a shoulder injury, will open the season on Friday, November 8th versus Boston College at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center at 6:00 pm. Dunn has officially been termed "day-to-day" by Cooley, as to his availability for Friday night's opener.
