PC Basketball Falls From National Polls, Projected as 9 Seed in NCAA Tourney
Tuesday, March 01, 2016
The Providence College Friars men's basketball team (20-9, 8-8 Big East) fell out of the national polls for the first time in 13 weeks on Monday. The Friars are coming off a 1-1 week in which they lost to Seton Hall on the road and beat DePaul at home on Saturday.
The Friars first appeared in the national polls this season on November 30, and climbed to as high as 8th in the country on January 4.
The Friars have since gone 6-7 and have lost 5 of their last 7 games.

In the most recent bracket projections on both CBS and ESPN, the Friars are a 9 seed. The projection is up one spot from the 10 seed they were projected as by CBS on Saturday.
ESPN's Joe Lunardi has the Friars as one of the last four teams with a bye, meaning they are just inside the bubble.
Both projections have 5 Big East teams (Butler, PC, Seton Hall, Villanova, Xavier) getting in to the tournament with Villanova and Xavier claiming 1 and 2 seeds respectively.
PC's Final Home Game
The Friars return to action on Wednesday, March 2 when they host Creighton at the Dunkin' Donuts Center.
The game is PC's last home game of the regular season.
Tip off is set for 9 p.m.
