The Celtics rank 45th overall worldwide in franchise value, with Forbes’ estimating their worth at $875 million.  That’s good for 4th among NBA franchises, trailing only the New York Knicks, Los Angeles Lakers, and Chicago Bulls.

The top 3 spots in Forbes’ rankings belong to European soccer clubs, with Spanish club Real Madrid earning the #1 spot at $3.44 billion.

While soccer clubs owned the top spots, the NFL is clearly the world’s #1 sports league value-wise, with 30 of the Forbes’ Top 50 spots going to American football teams (there are only 32 total teams in the NFL).
