Friars Hold on in OT
The Friars trailed 70-68 in the overtime period before scoring five straight points capped off by a Kyron Cartwright jump shot to take a 73-70 lead with 57 seconds left to play.
Xavier cut PC’s lead to one, 73-72, with 40 seconds left before Providence held on.
With 12 seconds left, PC’s Isaiah Jackson missed a layup and Xavier’s Kaiser Gates came down with a rebound and pushed the ball ahead to J.P. Macura.

After the inbounds, PC’s Alpha Diallo was sent to the free throw line and knocked down two shots to put the Friars up 75-72 with six seconds left.
The Musketeers had one more possession, but were not able to get a shot off in time.
PC was led by Rodney Bullock and Alpha Diallo, who each poured in 17 points.
Cartwright had 15 points in the game, 12 of which came in the second half.
