Friday, June 03, 2016
Brown Lacrosse star Dylan Molloy was named the winner of the Tewaaraton Award, recognizing him as the top men's college lacrosse player in the country, at a ceremony in Washington D.C. on Thursday. Molloy is the first ever Brown player to win the award.
"We are ecstatic for Dylan Molloy and his family, but we also see this as a team award and Dylan Molloy more than anyone else will tell you that he couldn't have done it without the help of his teammates," said Brown Head Coach Lars Tiffany.
Molloy is the third Ivy League player ever to win the award.

Molloy is a first team all-American and led the country in points (116) and assists (54) while ranking third in the country in goals with 62.
"Not only does Dylan Molloy bring to our team an incredible level of lacrosse skill, he also brings an incredible amount of joy. No one has more fun at practice than Dylan Molloy and while outside of the program he will be recognized as a great lacrosse player, but inside our program he will be remembered as a great person," Tiffany added.
Earlier in the month, Molloy earned the USILA's Lt. Raymond Enners Outstanding Player Award an the Lt. Col. J.I. Turnbull Outstanding Attackman Award. He is the first Brown player to earn the USILA's Outstanding Player Award and the second to be named Attackman of the Year since Darren Lowe did it in 1991.
Just prior to that, Molloy helped get the Bears to the NCAA Final Four for the first time since 1994, where Brown lost to Maryland 15-14 in overtime. Molloy scored two goals while playing the game on a broken foot.
