video: Johnston Pushes Past Prout, Wins Second Straight D2 Baseball Title

Johnston defeated Prout, 7-1, to capture the Division II baseball championship at McCoy Stadium in Pawtucket on Thursday afternoon. The Panthers swept the two-game series with Prout and defeated the Crusaders in the championship series for the second straight year. Sophomore James Picchi threw a complete game, giving up just one run in the first inning.
The Panthers scored six runs in the sixth inning to break free from a 1-1 tie. Chris Pistacchio hit a three-run triple in the inning.
Johnston (24-2, 17-1) lost just one game in the tournament, 1-0, to Westerly in the semifinal series.
