The Rams got off to a slow start in the first half and that is what cost them.

URI was up 4-3 two minutes into the game before Davidson went on a 17-2 run to take a 20-6 lead with just under 12 minutes to play.

During Davidson's run, the Rams went scoreless for about six minutes, taking all jump shots.

Rhody trailed 32-24 at the half  and got as no closer than six, 45-39, in the second half.

The Leaders

Jared Terrell led URI with 13 points on 4 of 13 shooting from the field while also grabbing 5 rebounds.

Early Watson followed up with 9 points on 3 of 5 shooting from the field and 9 rebounds in 20 minutes of action off the bench.

Free Throws

One thing that the Rams did do well is shoot free throws.

Led by Four McGlynn who went 4 for 4 at the line, the Rams went 15 fo 20 as a team, equaling 75%.

Free throws have been no guarantee for URI over the last season+.

Earl Watson

With Martin not playing in the second half, URI went to their bench and when they did that, the Rams got a big contribution from Earl Watson.

Watson played 20 minutes, scored 9 points on 2 of 5 shooting from the field and also grabbed 9 rebounds.

Nicola Akele was not bad either as he posted 8 points in 26 minutes of action.

Hassan Martin Injury

Hassan Martin started the game but only played ten minutes before leaving with knee tendonitis.

Martin has been battling knee problems most of the season (he missed two games in late December) and on the year, only has two games in which he has reached double figures in rebounding.

Martin was questionable to even play in the game.

Now URI has a tough decision to make with three games remaining in the regular season.

Sit him out, potentially bring him back for the A-10 tourney, or sit him out for the season and look toward next season.

Tough decision to make for Dan Hurley.
