GoLocal’s College Basketball Preview Show

Thursday, October 11, 2012

We've barely played a month into the football season...but if the leaves are turning, and the temperatures are dropping, it usually means one thing.

Basketball season is here.

And the college basketball season unofficially tips-off Friday night, with many schools across the country holding "Madness" celebrations - including the traditional "Late Night Madness" at Providence College's newly-refurbished Alumni Hall, and "Rhody Madness" taking place at URI.  It seems only fitting that GoLocal Sports also finds a way to join in the celebration.

This Saturday morning from 7:00 to 9:00 am, join John Rooke and Scott Cordischi for a preview of the local college basketball season, featuring Rhode Island's four Division I teams.  In the 8:00 am hour, all four head coaches will be featured - PC's Ed Cooley, Bryant's Tim O'Shea, URI's Dan Hurley and Brown's Mike Martin will all provide a sneak peek into their respective teams' fortunes for the upcoming year.

Each coach will preview his team by discussing the players, giving an overview of the schedule ahead and include talk about the upcoming competition.  Additionally, who - or what - are the surprises in store?  Which players can surpass expectations, and where will the pitfalls lie?  Are expectations for winning unreasonable...or are they about right?

All are questions that need answering, and GoLocal Sports will ask them...this Saturday morning.  Join us on 103.7 FM.
