GoLocal Sports brings the “one-two” Saturday

Friday, December 07, 2012

Nothing like packing a "one-two" punch when it comes to covering the local sports scene.

John Rooke and Scott Cordischi do that every Saturday on 103.7 FM's GoLocal Sports show, from 7:00 to 9:00 am!  They hit the local sports stories on radio like few others can, and this week will be no exception.

Former World Boxing champ Peter Manfredo, Jr. - the "Pride of Providence" - made a successful return to the ring and is scheduled to be a guest this week.  Manfredo took an entire year off from the sport, actually announcing his retirement from boxing, before training with legendary trainer Freddie Roach and climbing back inside the ropes.  The former "Contender" TV series star will tell his latest story and let us all know what's coming up next for him in the ring.

Got college hoop fever?  With the annual battle for bragging rights between PC and URI settled - at least for this year - we'll recap the Thursday night match-up and we want to hear from you!  What did you think of the teams' performance, and what does the future hold for both benches?  Plus...the latest on reinforcements arriving for the Friars as they hit the semester exam break...Brown has a huge challenge on the road playing at nationally-ranked Notre Dame...and Bryant's win streak is still intact.

And oh yeah...there's a little thing going on Monday night in Foxboro...the 9-3 New England Patriots tackle the 11-1 Houston Texans in a spectacular match-up that will have big-time playoff implications.

Don't miss out on the local sports talk.  Get up with John and Scott Saturday morning starting at 7:00 am - on 103.7 FM!
