Friars Use 25-3 Second Half Run to Roll Bearcats 66-45

The Providence College Friars men's basketball team (2-0) defeated the (0-2) Binghamton Bearcats 66-45 at the Dunkin Donuts Center on Monday night in front of a crowd of just over 4,000 people for a game that started after 9 p.m. This game was the first of four games the Friars will play as part of the Basketball Hall of Fame Tip-off tournament which concludes this weekend at Mohegan Sun.
From Sloppy to Spectacular
Providence led at half time 33-29 after a sloppy finish to the frame in which they let the Bearcats go on a 21-8 run and get themselves back in the game heading into the locker room. Prior to that Bearcats run, the Friars had leads of 17-3 and 25-8. Dusan Perovic led the Bearcats with 13 points in the game.

Spreading The Wealth
Providence was led by, senior forward, LaDontae Henton who posted 12 points, four rebounds and three steals in the game for the Friars. Unlike in the first game of the season against Albany, the Friars scoring was pretty well balanced in this game. Junior Tyler Harris had 11 points and grabbed eight rebounds while point guard Kris Dunn bounced back nicely with ten points, seven assists, and five steals in the game.
Center Carson Desrosiers fell two points shy of a double-double with ten rebounds and eight points in the game while freshman guard Kyron Cartwright had six points and five assists in the contest.

The Friars return to the court on Thursday night when the host Navy at 7 p.m. in game two of the Hall of Fame tip-off tournament.
