First Ultramarathon Set to Take Place at Bristol’s Colt State Park

Colt State Park in Bristol will host the first Anchor Down Ultramarathon on August 14-15. The marathon will consist of endurance athletes will run up to 100 miles or more in a period of 24 hours.
“Here in Rhode Island we have a beautiful coastline to showcase to the endurance running community. We are excited to bring an event of this magnitude to Rhode Island and nurture the vibrant, growing active living community right here in our little corner of the world," said Jason Paganelli of Endurance Fitness Systems LLC.
The race is capped at 100 runners on a 2.05 mile loop that will take marathoners past views of Narragansett Bay. The race is not marked solely by distance but also by time. Runners may do six hour, 12 hour and 24 hour races as well as a a fourth division for those running 100 miles or more.

· Runner Check-In: Friday, Aug. 14, 5:30-7 p.m.
· Race Starts (ALL races): Friday, Aug. 14, 7 p.m.
· 6-Hr Ends: Saturday, Aug. 15, 1:00 a.m. (Awards presented immediately.)
· 12-Hr Ends: Saturday, Aug.15, 7 a.m. (Awards presented immediately.)
· 24-Hr Ends: Saturday, Aug. 15, 7 p.m. (Awards presented immediately.)
