Elizabeth Beisel may be an intimidating force in the pool, but many of her teammates know her for her bubbly personality and playful antics. Despite being disappointed in an unexpected and record-obliterating performance by China's Ye Shiwen last week, the Olympic swimmer and Saunderstown native hasn't let it get her down.

GoLocal's Justin Bourke spoke with NBC poolside reporter Andrea Kremer at the Olympic Park to talk about the hometown hero and one funny pre-race ritual she and teammate Allison Schmitt invented to get pumped up.

Beisel again used that ritual today, winning bronze in the Women's 200-meter backstroke. Beisel entered the pool with the fastest semi-final qualifying time in the field.
