Thursday, April 05, 2012
RI native Jack Hayes will be named athletic director at Brown University, according to multiple sources at the University. The announcement may come as early as today. As GoLocalProv reported last Saturday, the Hofstra Athletic Director was one of two finalists.
Hayes is a hall of fame athlete from Providence Country Day and has served as AD at the Long Island, NY university since 2004. He has had demonstrated success at Hofstra and was the final decision-maker in cancelling the football program.
Providence attorney Dennis Grieco who played lacrosse with Hayes at PCD said, "He is a natural leader and gets people to buy into a winning vision."
