CVS Caremark Charity Classic Announces Pairings

The pairings for the 2013 CVS Caremark Charity Classic were unvieled today and there appear to be many pairings that have a legitimate shot to take home the title this year.

Among those is the pairing or tournament co-host Brad Faxon and Jeff Sluman.  The two combined to win the Champions Tour's Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf earlier this year which essentially has the same format as this event.

Fellow tournament co-host Billy Andrade also sports a strong partner in Bill Haas who has been one of the most consistent players on tour this year.

It will be interesting to see if either Faxon or Andrade can win their own event.  The two have come close in the previous 14 years but have never taken home the top prize.

15th Anniversary Event Brings Top Names in Golf to Rhode Island


BARRINGTON, RHODE ISLAND (June 4, 2013) – CVS Caremark Charity Classic co-hosts Brad Faxon and Billy Andrade today announced the pairings for the 15th annual charity golf tournament, scheduled for June 23-25 at Rhode Island Country Club.

Tournament week begins with the Pepsi Pro-Am on Sunday, June 23 followed by the two-day tournament on Monday, June 24-Tuesday, June 25 at the Rhode Island Country Club.

On Monday, tournament activities begin at 9 a.m. with a fun and entertaining clinic featuring Dan Hicks, NBC’s voice for golf and Notre Dame Football. The first round of tournament competition begins immediately following the clinic with the final round slated for Tuesday at 9 a.m.

The CVS Caremark Charity Classic uniquely offers sports enthusiasts the chance to enjoy world-class golf in a relaxed atmosphere while helping to support hundreds of New England area charities. New for 2013, the CVS Caremark Charity Classic is honoring veterans by offering complimentary admission for all active, reserve and retired Military Service Members and their dependents. Veterans simply present a valid Common Access Card or Retired Military Card at the gate any day throughout the three-day tournament. Police and Fire department employees and their families also receive free admission with a valid ID.

Tickets for the 2013 CVS Caremark Charity Classic are available through a special offer at CVS/pharmacy stores in Rhode Island as well as select CVS/pharmacy locations in Southeastern Massachusetts. In addition, fans can purchase a three-day pass ($60) or single, good-any-day tickets ($25) by calling 866-CVS-9441 or visiting cvscharityclassic.com for a mail-in application. Children 17 and under are free with a ticketed adult. The tournament also offers tickets to the Wine Pavilion presented by Robert Mondavi Private Selection. Open to attendees ages 21 or older, the Wine Pavilion is located between the 16th and 17th fairways along Narragansett Bay and offers daily food and wine samplings provided by award-winning Robert Mondavi, Clos Du Bois and Blackstone wines. Offering spectacular, close-up views of tournament play, tickets to the pavilion tent are $50 per day.
