An 18-0 run over a  5:32 stretch midway through the 1st half put Bryant up by 17 points, and the Bulldogs never looked back as they coasted to an 82-55 win over Salve Regina in an interstate battle on Saturday.

Bench points were the key in this one as Bryant outscored Salve 61 (yes, 61!) to 15 in that department.  Curtis Oakley had 18 points in relief for the Bulldogs, and Bosko Kostur and Dan Garvin each supplied 13 points of their own off the bench for Bryant.

Jeff Bielefeld scored a team-high 17 points for Salve, and Patrick Dinneen added 15 points for the Sea Hawks, a Division 3 program that had won its first 4 games of the season prior to Saturday.

The Sea Hawks hung tough with the Bulldogs on the boards, and the rebounding battle finished an even 36-36.  Salve simply didn't shoot well enough (39% from the field, 24% from 3-point range) to keep it close against a superior team.

Bryant has now won 3 games in a row and stands 5-2 (3-0 at home) on the season.  The Bulldogs next play wednesday night when they travel to take on Yale at 7:30 p.m.
