URI is looking for a new Women's Basketball coach.

Cathy Inglese will not have her contract renewed after her 5-year deal expired at the end of this past season.  The University announced their decison Friday, and a national search for a new Women's Basketball coach is underway.

"I would like to thank Cathy for her five years of service to the University and wish her well in the future," URI Athletic Director Thorr Bjorn said in a statement.

URI posted a 30-115 record overall over the past 5 seasons, including a 6-66 record in Atlantic 10 play.

"I am pleased with the progress the program has made, and I am confident in its successful future," Inglese said in a statement.  Inglese has won over 400 games in her college coaching career, which has included stops at Vermont and Boston College.

The URI Athletic Department will not comment further on the situation until a new coach is named. It's the 2nd major hire for Bjorn to make this academic year, following the hire of Jim Fleming as new Head Football Coach in December.
