When the senior forward has a game like that, Bryant's Bulldogs usually win.  And that they did Thursday night on the road in New Britain, CT, defeating the Central Connecticut State Blue Devils 79-68.

14 of Francis' points came in the second half, and they needed every one of them.  Two free throws by CCSU's Terrell Allen pulled the Blue Devils within two with just over eight minutes to play.  Bryant slowly pulled away over the next six minutes and a layup by Francis with 2:34 to play gave the Bulldogs (15-9, 7-2) a 73-64 advantage. The Blue Devils cut the deficit to five with 1:57 left, but wouldn't score again.

Dyami Starks scored 16 while Corey Maynard and Dan Garvin added 13 apiece for Bryant.

CCSU opened the game on a 7-0 run that the Bulldogs would quickly answer, scoring nine uninterrupted points for a two-point edge five minutes into the contest.  The Blue Devils (6-16, 2-7) were led by Brandon Peel's double-double effort (15 points, 12 rebounds) and another 16 points from Malcolm McMillan.

Bryant shot 49.2 percent for the game with a 10-for-28 performance from three-point range, and won the rebounding battle 39-35.  The Bulldogs will next face Mount St. Mary's at 4:00 pm Saturday at the Chace Athletic Center in Smithfield, following the women's game against CCSU at 1:00 pm.
