Bruins take a 2-0 lead as the Series Shifts to Philadelphia

They did it again! For the fifth time in as many tries this postseason, the Boston Bruins protected home ice by defeating the Philadelphia Flyers 3-2 in game 2 of the Eastern Conference semifinals at the TD Garden Monday night.
Milan Lucic lit the lamp with just under three minutes to play in the third period to lift Boston to a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven series which now shifts to Philadelphia for games 3 and 4 on Wednesday and Friday.
Unlike the early stages of Boston’s opening round playoff series with Buffalo where the Bruins trailed the Sabres for a majority of each game, the B’s have never trailed in this series to Philadelphia.

Boston regained the lead on Miroslav Satan’s fourth goal of the postseason midway through the second. However, Philadelphia would tie it again in the final minute of the period on Danny Briere’s fourth playoff tally.
Like Marc Savard did on Saturday with his overtime goal, Lucic sent the Garden crowd into a frenzy with his go-ahead goal with 2:57 to play. It turned out to be the game-winner.
Boston’s Tuukka Rask stopped 25 of the 27 shots he faced while the Flyers Brian Boucher 23 of 23 Boston shots on goal. Neither team was effective on the power play with Philly going 0-4 and Boston 0-5.
Game 3 of this series will be played Wednesday night in Philadelphia at 7pm.
