It seems that Sarah Palin is going to host a morning show .Its just like I said Conservatives go where the money is.Do you think Palin is going to share her Conservative views while cooking on the show LOL Palin is an aid and comfort to the Democrats.
I`m not out to bash Palin but Rowley brought her up as an example on a Lively Experiment during one of his Rants.

Government policies have destroyed the nuclear family. Why? Because an entire poverty industry depends upon the destruction of families. We get more of what we reward. Reward those who would destroy families, you get more destroyed families.

As for the poverty industry that promotes family destruction, I doubt things will ever change. Winston Churchill said it best: "However beautiful the strategy, you should occasionally look at the results." There's too much money at stake; thus, the poverty industry will further a safety net that has turned into a hammock for too many people.

Angel reminds me of our former community organizer, now President Obama, in that both are way over their heads. First, Angel comes into office and offers city property as collateral for a large loan to get through last fiscal year. Next, he crafts a fantasy budget for this fiscal year and fails to get spending under control. Now, he denies what is obvious to everyone but him - that the city is bankrupt. In the end, Providence residents will get exactly what they deserve - worthless homes, monumental supplemental tax increases, and a city thoroughly in decline.

The lesson - liberal politicians spend money liberally. Providence loves liberal politicians - now pay for it.

@Mike Govern: It's a little bit like Providence and the state as whole. Anyone who warned that Providence or the state was overspending and wouldn't be able to meet financial obligations was a "right-winger" about 4 years ago.

After things hit the fan and there were no other alternatives, Democrats like Angel Taveras and Gina Raimondo came along calling for fiscal responsibility and get heralded by other Democrats for "tackling tough problems". At that point, fiscal responsibility moves from being branded as "right-wing" to being acceptably mainstream.

Same thing will happen at the federal level.

most of the negative attacks here are simply ad hominen-attack the person (cool-aid etc) rather than trying to discuss the issue. typical lib response.

As far as Treyvon goes-it's an opportunity as in never let a crisis go to waste-
well documented in Saul Alinsky's "Rules for Radicals" - I believe "the one" actually taught a course in the subject. No matter the outcome -given MSM doctored tapes, black panthers "dead or alive" rewards and those MSNBC hosts posing as leaders of the victimized black americans (sharpton and jackson) for all 7 people who still watch the channel, and of course the deep from the heart comment from the one that if he had a son...nice-let's not wait for due process-convicted already in the media. I guess it took the buzz off gas prices going up for a nano-second.

This Jonathan Holton fiasco.... I don't know who I am more upset with, Holton or Coach Baron for not doing his homework on this punk. Turns out on the computers they seized from him was stolen.
Now I am hearing Victor Rudd Jr. (USF) wants to go pro, but has NOT hired an agent. Don't these kids realize the NBA draft is only two rounds or do they block that out and continue to listen to the agents tell them how great they are (when they are really not)
Didn't Jim Boeheim call Charles Barkley an idiot recently (I am not sure why) There is alot to like about Syracuse hoops but Boeheim to me is a total turnoff. The older he gets, the more ornary (and obnoxious) he gets.
Keno Davis to Central Michigan??? Good for him. Perhaps the Mid-American is a better fit than the Big East

John, I know this PC recruiting class is much heralded, but if they are going to EARN playing time, wouldn't they have to beat out Coleman to get it.
I would think Coleman (as the senior on next years team) would relish that challenge but if only thinks that the freshman will only cut into his playing time, I have to wonder about him and his desire to be part of a winning organization. Very disappointed in him for thinking about leaving the PC program.
I think Giplaye can help as a role player. Yes he did play 7 min. a game and that's probably all he would get on most teams.

Tell you what Angel, why not just go throw another fundraiser for Cicilline while you're at it (yes that's right Angel, the one who lied to you (and all of us) and told the entire city it was in excellent fiscal condition, and left you holding the bag, and you're STILL covering for that scumbag!).

Oh, and thanks Angel for putting your signature of approval on letting the crooks on the council steal Downtown from the wards that held it for decades and hand it to Yurdin's ward. We won't forget it!

I don't see any connection with what Crowley does and the teachers as far as quality and working with the kids. The teachers that need Crowley are the ones we do not want in our schools. The unions are the teacher’s worst PR enemy and it’s time for the teachers to stand up and give them the bums rush out the door.
We have a bloated union mindset in RI and in particular the NEARI. We do not want or need this short sighted self-serving aspect in our education system. We need performance without conditions, we need success without compromise and we need an educational system that works for our kids not for the union.

This state is built as a house of cards or better yet dominos with the state that is toppling the cities and towns with the lack of management at the state and local levels that has never been under control. The total lack of financial controls is absurd to the level that we do not have any financial oversight to how we run the municipal governments nor the state governments in RI.
We have inept people doing an inept job with NO planning, NO understanding of making and meeting commitments to its citizens while acting as self-serving gluttons at the feeding trough.
We are a state that lives off the federal dole of grants and hand outs and we have NOT ever planned on how to run this state as a viable business center to build a foundation and infrastructure for growth. The state of RI and its fiefdom of cities and towns have slowly built a pit of debt and decay that has eroded each decade to make the good hard working people of RI leave and those same people making sure their kids do not plan on staying in RI as there is NO future.
Pretty bleak and the RIPEC says what, who are these people to say put the reconstruction of the state and municipalities back in the hands of the inept?

Again, it’s simply amazing below Rowley’s articles. With few exceptions do I ever see anyone argue against what Rowley ACTUALLY says. From you people, it’s just mockery all the time. Never anything substantive that you add to the debate (which tells me that you really can't win the debate). If you disagree with something, just tell us why. Peter C. is the only critic of this article who said anything meaningful.

Tom Kenney, all you said is that Rowley is “one-sided” and asked if anyone can take his “rants” seriously. What a beautifully crafted position. How’s this, Tom: I say 4+4 = 8. Am I too “one-sided” for you? Step outside of the Right-Left political paradigm, and get a clue. The truth has no side. If someone tells a lie, and a conservative points it out, it’s not a credible retort to call the conservative “one-sided.” Your baseless assumption is that the writer isn't being sincere, but is merely taking his position for political reasons.

Pepin, you attack Rowley for having no “nuance” when he’s the one who clearly admitted that Zimmerman may be guilty or innocent. You didn’t even read the article.

Joe, the mention of “Know it alls” and “Sarah Palin” says absolutely nothing.

Drago, all you did was call Rowley a Nazi. Really? Rowley's a socialist?

J. Flynn, you were offended so you stopped reading? How academic of you. You found a misspelling in the comments section? That’s really your comment?

J. Ferreira, you’re upset over the confidence (“arrogance”) that Rowley expresses on a TV show? Seriously?

Russ C. only asked if this (Rowley) is the best GoLocal has got. Well, I ask if all of these pointless comments is all that YOU guys have. Really, it’s pathetic. You are all pathetic. Grow up, and make an argument.

Consider this....If you were on a high school debate team, you’d all be cut. From a strictly objective perspective, Rowley just destroyed each and every one of you---combined.

There is nothing that addresses the problems with the parents who are missing in action, don't take on their own responsibilities and have to live off the state services. I am not saying don't support the kids but I am saying hold the parents accountable, even if its taking the kids away from them and shipping the parents back to where ever they came from.
RI attracts the needy and makes it too easy for someone that lacks any responsibility to get into the RI system of social services that is used to employ friends and family of other political types in the RI.

So you can educate yourself as a woman or male
What is sexual harassment?

Sexual harassment is a form of sex discrimination. The legal definition of sexual harassment is “unwelcome verbal, visual, or physical conduct of a sexual nature that is severe or pervasive and affects working conditions or creates a hostile work environment.”

Unwelcome

Conduct is not sexual harassment if it is welcome. For this reason, it is important to communicate (either verbally, in writing, or by your own actions) to the harasser that the conduct makes you uncomfortable and that you want it to stop.
Conduct Of A Sexual Nature

Many different kinds of conduct—verbal, visual or physical—that is of a sexual nature may be sexual harassment, if the behavior is unwelcome and if it is severe or pervasive. Here are some more examples:

Verbal or written: Comments about clothing, personal behavior, or a person’s body; sexual or sex-based jokes; requesting sexual favors or repeatedly asking a person out; sexual innuendoes; telling rumors about a person’s personal or sexual life; threatening a person

Physical: Assault; impeding or blocking movement; inappropriate touching of a person or a person’s clothing; kissing, hugging, patting, stroking

Nonverbal: Looking up and down a person’s body; derogatory gestures or facial expressions of a sexual nature; following a person

Visual: Posters, drawings, pictures, screensavers or emails of a sexual nature

** Non-sexual conduct may also be sexual harassment if you are harassed because you are female, rather than male, or because you are male, rather than female. For example, it may be sexual harassment if you are a woman working as a carpenter on an all-male job, and you are the only one whose tools are frequently hidden by your male co-workers.

Severe or Pervasive

The conduct of the harasser must either be severe or it must be pervasive to be sexual harassment. A single incident is probably not sexual harassment unless it is severe. For example, a single incident of rape or attempted rape would probably be sexual harassment (it would also violate criminal laws).

Although a single unwanted request for a date or one sexually suggestive comment might offend you and/or be inappropriate, it may not be sexual harassment. However, a number of relatively minor separate incidents may add up to sexual harassment if the incidents affect your work environment. Some questions you can ask yourself to determine whether the conduct is pervasive are: How many times did the incidents occur? How long has the harassment been going on? How many other people were also sexually

I am not saying otherwise with regard to the union, if you look at what I am saying I am actually standing up for Mr. O'Rourke--that it is not a federal fraud problem as far as the hiring--more a union problem if at all anything. Go take a walk thru the PHA and look at the way employees are dressed, such as females. I felt uncomfortable when I heard it, but did not claim any sexual harassment because I was like whatever, but that is my morals. But, due to the fact that there is a woman who is taking a stand, she may not be telling the whole truth, but there is some truth behind it. That is all I am saying. Harassment you are right should be reported at the time, but sometimes people are afraid to come forward for fear of retaliation, humiliation such as some are doing to her at this point because they like him. Yes he is an excellent E.D. that has brought PHA to an even place, unlike when he took over, but again it does not excuse the behavior.

First, I'm sure there was at least one woman with not so large breasts who attended lunch. What constitutes large breasts? B cups? C? I am not excusing lewd behavior or sexism but I believe, technically, until you say to someone (like human resources or the union steward) that someone's actions make you uncomfortable and you have asked them to stop, this is not sexual harassment. As more an more relationships take hold in the workplace this becomes more of a grey area. It would also serve your argument if you made specific references to who these friends are (of Mr. O'Rourke, I assume?) before you cast stones so lightly. I believe the union leadership would have complained if this was the case. I'm sure there are categories of jobs that are considered "professional" in nature and exempt from the union contract.
