It time we start do the will of the Tax Payer.

The answer is bankruptcy. Nobody bailed out the rest
of us when our 401s shrunk. Nobody should bail them out either.
Why should they be any better than the rest of us.

Its time to say NO to already outrageous taxes.
Anyone with a half a brain could figure out some day no money
would be coming in to pay for these only in Government sweat heart
deals. You steal from the people now deal with your own loss.

Another point, of course Central Falls has 80% of their foreclosed properties as multi family homes. Have you ever driven through CF? 80% of the properties are multi family homes, so naturally the percentage will follow through.

I don't understand how the solution is to build more affordable housing. Isn't it obvious that with foreclosures the way they are, that we're already inundated with excessive affordable housing.

The current homeowner who would like to simply sell his house and move elsewhere, can't because he'll lose too much money on the sale of his house. If we build more housing, it would make this situation even worse.

Have the banks unload all these foreclosed properties AS affordable housing, and let the real estate market start to get back to normal again.

You have to wonder who the threat of bankruptcy is aimed at. The unions and all of the administration's hand picked appointees certainly don't want bankruptcy, THEIR jobs would be in jeopardy, and what more can they do? Mr. and Mrs. non-connected tax payer expect tax hikes, bankruptcy or not.

"But the video conveniently omits a chief underlying cause of these grim realities: overly generous pension plans doled out to people in their forties and fifties who will draw on the system for 2, 3 or in some cases 4 decades matched by gold plated, low co-pay structured health plansthat are now triggering annual required contribution payments that threaten to devour half –or greater—ofthe entire revenue base of many cities and towns.

Well said. Declare bankruptcy and restructure.

Tom...a real man does not let a newspaper or any woman..particularly a woman, define him. Too many men are sissified. Women don't know what the hell they want so why would any man listen to them as far as how a man whould act. Take a weekend off from getting your nails done and watch some John Wayne movies.
A man is like obscenity....you may not be able to define a man but you know a real one when you see him.

Instead of trying to figure out what you "should" be based on the superficial and fickle opinions of some non-existent public opinion polls I might suggest you just be who you are.

Stats, opinions, should be's and all the rest are diversionary, nonsensical, exhausting and meaningless. Enlightenment is never an external journey.

In order to have jobs you have to have businesses that can create those jobs!

With the sky high property taxes in Providence, especially on business owners and it also having the highest per-thousand vehicle property tax rate in the state....why would any business want to locate in Providence?

And, just how bad and in how many ways is it bad in Providence!

ARE YOU READY?

Here is a great example!!!

Providence is the ONLY Capital City in the entire Country that DOES NOT HAVE a new car dealership within its boundaries!

And with its overly aggressive approach to ripping off visitors with parking rates and fines....it won't be long before other businesses pack up their bags and leave because of lost income from people no longer coming to visit, shop and spend money!

I have not been to any of its great Restaurants, PPAC, The Dunk, The Civic Center, Waterplace Park and WaterFire, a P-Bruins Game in years and have no intentions to ever, again, do so!

Thom DiPaola makes a lot of sense when he stated "If you break this down by % of population vs. # of floreclosures, West Warwick is by far the worst.

I would very much like to see this study and analysis taken one step further and do all 39-cities and towns by % of population vs. # of foreclosures. I also feel that having that statistic would be even more meaningful and also an indication of financial situation of many a family in our cities and towns!

What? Double the Affordable housing budget from $25-$50 million? The tax-and-spend social engineers never miss and opportunity to force more garbage down the taxpayers throat.

Foreclosure occurs because someone Must sell there home for personal finacial reasons - and they can't. They ikely lost their job and the financial burden of their mortgage, insurance and outrageous RI property taxes has croaked them.

The problem remains too many homes, not enough homebuyers, caused by too few jobs, and too high a tax burden. With RI Unemployment at 11% - and real unemployment much higher - we need Jobs and property tax relief, not Affordable Housing!

If these cities were private companies the management would all be fired! The voters can fire them in November. The Democrats all need to go! Democrat=bad management=RI ranked at or near the bottom in every category. Bankruptcy is next! Have we had enough yet?

“If the accusations are true?" Why are most of the Board members acting so oblivious? Many of them have witnessed Stephen, first hand, belittle the staff and make harassing comments. Herosy said it herself; the Board of Directors was present when she was humiliated as she tried to approach the chairman at the end of a presentation. The Board is not in a position to defend him- Stephen bought them with expensive wines, and fancy retreats. John Waldman the PHA’s Chairman, use to warn the employees “Stephen is not easy to work with… he has a short temper…I have warned him a few times…one of these days he is going to get in trouble.” Stephen should had listened to his "friend's" advice.
The board has joined him in abusing the PHA, by remaining silent for their own greedy reasons. Now they sense they are in trouble and don’t know if to join him or safe themselves.
Have some courage…… who is in charge Stephen or the Board?

. What does he need from that flower? He needs the wisdom and honey which is Gods grace. To obtain the honey of grace and Gods qualities and actions, he must sit by the side of the sheikh and extract them from the sheikh, just as a bee extracts honey from a flower. That is his honey.

The disciples must sit on the qalb, the innermost heart, of the sheikh and imbibe the honey. Around him there may be land, gold, women, treasures, feces, urine, gold, silver, or platinum. There may be silk and velvet. There may be wealth and happiness, house and property, families and tribes. There may be thrones and palaces and many treasures. All these and more may surround the sheikh, but the true disciple will never sit upon any of them because they do not have the fragrance he is seeking
