Amazing, so if I accuse you something then you have to take leave. I accuse Taveras of running the City into the ground through bankruptcy. If I have a second voice then McGowan will write about it and promote the agenda. Maybe the Mayor will try and fire these Board members? No, his members voted to remove. So, Narducci doesn't have a relative or a goomatta working at PHA? I guess the Mayor will have to wait on PHA like ProCAP to get his jobs. First an ad hominen attack with McGowan spewing hear say from all corners and then removal. Classic politics with a press mouthpiece; not a journalistic perspective.

I personally dont care for looking good at the gym. Here is why: its almost the same as a club.. you want to impress the girls and the guys want to show off in front of you.

For me, I look good, i work out, thats all i need. I take my looks outside of the gym and i hit on women there. I dont sh#t where i eat, so i avoid causing issues at the gym.

lets be honest; alpha males do not need sleepwear to better themselves in bed. By the time they have a female companion in bed, the job is practically done. I guess pyjamas are ok once you already seduced your female companion... but if you havent, i suggest going another route to bettering your chances of being alpha. www.amog4l.com

Is anyone surprised? Yes the city that has been ruined by Cicilline and run by Democrats. Democrats=Cicilline=no jobs=no future=ranked last! It is time to put in a new team statewide and STOP ELECTING DEMOCRATS! If this was private enterprise they would all be FIRED. It is time to elect Republicans and restore balance to Providence and to our state. It is time to stop the special interests and the cronyism. Then Rhode Island will be saved!

Yes, elected leaders should stop telling voters the truth, make them think that everything is OK and then WHAM! just go ahead and declare bankruptcy when nobody is expecting it!

It is not a "notion" that RI is is a bad place to do business. RI really is a bad place to do business. The bond rating agencies know this, too. It would be more helpful to acknowledge and address the problems than to whistle past the graveyard.

Dr. Mazze should also realize that Woonsocket's problem aren't going to be solved by Leo Fontaine holding department heads "accountable". The City of Woonsocket is running a surplus. It is the Woonsocket School Department, over which the mayor has no control, that is responsible for the deficits in that city. Mazze's suggestion is the equivalent of asking Governor Chafee to fix the problems in Michigan.

What, pray I ask, makes Dr. Edward Mazze an expert? How many cities has he run? How many city departments has he run? How many organizations of any size has he run?

Or perhaps the question should be: how many years has he spent with his head buried in books or behind a desk pontificating? Does that make him an expert?

Government at all levels needs reform and public engagement, not more hot air from theoreticians.

Marcia Marcia Marcia, who was she supposed to bring her grievance to? Mr O'Rouke? Make some sense.

She did the right thing.

When the NP councilmen were being investigated, did the rat go to the NP cops? no. Did he go to the NP mayor? no. He went to the feds. That's what you do when you're trying to avoid a cover up, which is what happens EVERY SINGLE DAY in RI.

As stated in the article, if these elected officials were working in the private sector, they'd ALL be fired. No questions asked. No union repercussions. Simply fired for incompetence.

The entire structure of today's government needs to be reconstructed. Good luck with that.

It time we start do the will of the Tax Payer.

The answer is bankruptcy. Nobody bailed out the rest
of us when our 401s shrunk. Nobody should bail them out either.
Why should they be any better than the rest of us.

Its time to say NO to already outrageous taxes.
Anyone with a half a brain could figure out some day no money
would be coming in to pay for these only in Government sweat heart
deals. You steal from the people now deal with your own loss.

Another point, of course Central Falls has 80% of their foreclosed properties as multi family homes. Have you ever driven through CF? 80% of the properties are multi family homes, so naturally the percentage will follow through.

I don't understand how the solution is to build more affordable housing. Isn't it obvious that with foreclosures the way they are, that we're already inundated with excessive affordable housing.

The current homeowner who would like to simply sell his house and move elsewhere, can't because he'll lose too much money on the sale of his house. If we build more housing, it would make this situation even worse.

Have the banks unload all these foreclosed properties AS affordable housing, and let the real estate market start to get back to normal again.

You have to wonder who the threat of bankruptcy is aimed at. The unions and all of the administration's hand picked appointees certainly don't want bankruptcy, THEIR jobs would be in jeopardy, and what more can they do? Mr. and Mrs. non-connected tax payer expect tax hikes, bankruptcy or not.

"But the video conveniently omits a chief underlying cause of these grim realities: overly generous pension plans doled out to people in their forties and fifties who will draw on the system for 2, 3 or in some cases 4 decades matched by gold plated, low co-pay structured health plansthat are now triggering annual required contribution payments that threaten to devour half –or greater—ofthe entire revenue base of many cities and towns.

Well said. Declare bankruptcy and restructure.

Tom...a real man does not let a newspaper or any woman..particularly a woman, define him. Too many men are sissified. Women don't know what the hell they want so why would any man listen to them as far as how a man whould act. Take a weekend off from getting your nails done and watch some John Wayne movies.
A man is like obscenity....you may not be able to define a man but you know a real one when you see him.
