It is quite amusing to see that all those supported by Carcieri and his regime have had a big hand in the incompetence that reigns in today's RIGOP. When will they learn???

A contract is a contract. It's law. What can't you understand about that? Also, cities cannot easily declare bankruptcy and reorganize, particularly if it is clearly to undermine contracts. Also another pesky part of established law.

gio had his run. i give him credit for trying......i think the execution and end results of his tenure could have been better.many have failed before him...

everything was done like it was just after he finished a red bull or two. didnt seem to be team building. maybe too much ego.

zacaria is more low key, less flash....in the long run , he can only do better.

honestly, I never pay attention to any sports betting lines including Vegas. I made my above comment fully expecting the Friars to play well tonight to keep the score down, not any negativity towards Syracuse

This article states that "financial mistakes” were made by previous leadership, INCLUDING former Chairman Gio Ciccione. It doesn't say that the problems were limited to Cicione. Does anyone else find it strange that Zaccaria takes over from McKay and immediately "discovers" financial irregularities? Cicione makes a convenient dartboard because of his unpopularity, but how much of the problem was attributable to McKay and how much to Cicione? It's a little odd that McKay bails mid-term after promising to serve a full term and then problems are "discovered" by his successor. Given that McKay was fired from the RNC because of his inability to properly oversee party funds, this whole thing smells funny.

New ideas, new focus, new party image is needed in RI.
There is too much time put into complaining about Dems in RI that falls on deaf ears.
The only voice that will be heard is what the GOP can do to help RI citizens.
Pick one thing and be the best “go to guys” and the voters will remember the GOP is working for the people.
My suggestion is focus on job creation which will be a major issue for the foreseeable future in RI. Advocate a more business friendly tax structure, cultivate the small business community, develop a reputation that shows a difference, not just talk as the incumbent party tends to do.
The GOP is not in the same class as the RI Dems and that is a good thing.

THE LEGACY OF FORMER GOP CHAIRMAN GIO CICIONE
-He tossed in GOP personnel into the race last minute in 2008 in a desperate move to have candidates on the ballot, and did not fill in the paperwork properly, embarrassing the party.
–He cancelled all of the meetings on his own GOP members to ensure closing the primary would never see the light of day after his own Executive voted to move it forward.
-His own city/town chair people voted NO CONFIDENCE him
-His own GOP delegates in an ad hoc meeting (since he cancelled all of the regular meetings) voted NO CONFIDENCE in him.
- He stated that he would welcome Lincoln Chafee back into the party with open arms to the media after Chafee was elected Governor.
-He used Heidi Rogers to run in the LT Governor primary only to pull out.
-He engineered Clean Slate which was a waste of money, ineffective and left the GOP in debt.
-He recruited Dan Gordon into the party.
The most untrusted man in the GOP and he was hired by the Doherty campaign? Is there a pattern here?
Now he is tied into a scandal involving GOP finances. Gio Cicione the gift that keeps on giving! The most untrusted man in RI politics and he isn’t even in office.

These RI Republicans are quite the cast of characters. Always deriding RI voters for allowing single party dominance. Yet the only thing they are consistenly good at is demonstrating, time and time again, that they can't even manage themselves or the ten cents they keep in the bank.

For the peoples education, there was one middle school in Providence that was having success, it was Bridgham Middle School. They had about 500-600 students, a veteran staff, and a nice solid neighborhood on the way up. They were the only middle school that made AYP, very few issues etc... There reward? Closed. Where are they now? Most are packed into DelSesto Middle School, where there are 28 to 29 in many classes. Now that's reform, Don't you agree Johnny??

syracuse has earned the 13 point spread over pc from the vegas line .
it will be difficult for the friiars to stay with that . to stay within half of that would
indicate that they played well .

Wrecks Ryan will never change. He spends way too much time running his mouth about winning the Super Bowl every year he overlooks how flawed that team really. Wrecks having named Holmes as a team captain was a mistake but he will still be with the team to honor that 5 yr, 45 million dollar contract.
Syracuse is very deep and very talented and very deserving of their #ranking but I have a suspicion that Providence will either lose by single digits or perhaps steal one.
St. John's continues to go with a six-man roster tonight in their loss to Louisville at the Garden. Pitino just kept subbing at will and always had fresh troops on the floor. The Storm really have no shot against opponents who have any kind of depth.
I am fully aware of Ray Allen and Paul Pierce value to the Celtics, who were in trouble on Monday night against the Wizz until Ray hit a big three to give them a nine point lead.
Is Beckett and Crawford still mad because Valentine called them out while an analyst on Sunday Night Baseball. I think they should be seeking him out to speak to him, not the other way around. In other words... GET OVER IT. I don't know what happened with Crawford but at the time, I thought Valentine was right on about Beckett violating the rules by taking too long to deliver a pitch (of course never enforced) He was doing it in that Aug 7 game against the Yankees, even with nobody on base. On the other hand, when he pitches, one can do chores around the house with the game on and never miss a pitch.
Peyton Manning may come back as a QB with the Jets, but I don't think he will be the same.
If the Colts front office told me as a coach to "lose this game on purpose so we can get that #1 draft" and I would tell them to start looking for another coach. I don't care what the circumstances are, I could never coach ANY game that I wasn't trying to win. Otherwise, I am not being true to myself.
Fisher will be coaching somewhere next year and I hope it's in Tampa.
