Why are we starting all over again with a new committee?
Here's an "out of the box" thought.
Why is education mandatory for children?
We say that teachers can't teach if the students don't want to learn.
Teachers can't teach without the help and reinforcement from the parents.
Think about it. If the schools were filled with students who actually WANTED to be there and learn, and who had the support of their parents, then test scores would rise.
If the kids who don’t have the support of their families and who don’t want to be there, aren’t forced to go, the overall costs of education can be reduced. If not reduced, then maybe the schools could actually afford text books, or supplies, or not fight with teachers every year over raises.
This entire government needs to start thinking “outside the box”.
Stop forcing funding on people who 1) don’t want it and 2) don’t deserve it.
Especially with inner city schools, classrooms could be reduced by at least 20%. More time could be given to the children who want to learn. Less school buildings would actually be needed.
This method of thinking should be not just for education, but spread throughout all of government spending.
Aren’t we tired of having our tax dollars wasted on a daily basis?!?!?!?

Any agency that runs on other people's money (i.e., taxpayers' money) will become corrupt. Government-funded entities are part of an inbred system of politicians who provide hand outs to remain in power and agency managers who feel that the "free" money is theirs and who know that they can (normally) count on protection from their politician allies.Thanks to Taveras for throwing a wrench in one such scheme.
I know that, years ago, CODAC was another agency abusing the funds it received. Hopefully, this agency has changed its ways.

This is so distrubing on so many levels, as usual the poor will be punished for their sins. Pro-Cap doesn't answer their phones,the much needed support has dried up until they sort this mess out.
