Sales of single-family homes made a big jump upwards in April compared to a year ago. Existing single family home sales went up 26 percent, from 529 sales in April 2009 to 668 sales in April 2010. A steady climb in single-family home sales over the past 13 months is promising news for Rhode Islanders.There was a slight decline in February, but the winter months typically show a decrease in sales. Median price was up for the sixth consecutive month, rising 12 percent to $205,000 from $183,000 12 months earlier.
