NEW: RE/MAX Donates $5,000 to Hasbro Children’s Hospital

Friday, January 03, 2014

The RE/MAX in Rhode Island Golf Committee presenting a check for $5,000 to Hasbro Children’s Hospital and the Children’s Miracle Network in December.

RE/MAX in Rhode Island has donated $5,000 to Hasbro Children’s Hospital and the Children’s Hospital Miracle Network Hospitals. RE/MAX raised the money at the 27th Annual RE/MAX Open Golf Tournament. More than 150 people turned out for the event held in July at the Potowomut Golf Club in Warwick.

“All of the RE/MAX team members that participated in this golf tournament deserve a big round of applause,” said Dan Breault, Executive Vice President and Regional Director of RE/MAX of New England. “This annual tournament has raised more than $55,000 to date for a variety of different causes throughout Rhode Island, most notably contributions to Hasbro Children’s Hospital, and that is an enormous accomplishment that everyone should be proud of.”

“The RE/MAX Open Golf Tournament could not be possible without the help and support of RE/MAX Associates in Rhode Island,” said Karen H. Sechio, Marketing Director for RE/MAX in Rhode Island. “We’d like to thank everyone who had a hand in this outstanding event, especially Glenn Carpenter, a RE/MAX Professionals Agent, who has been an integral part of this event since 1986.”

The funding

“Hasbro Children's Hospital is incredibly thankful for the long standing partnership we’ve had with RE/MAX of New England and RE/MAX in Rhode Island over the years,” said Karli Blossom, Children's Miracle Network Hospitals Program Director. “This funding will allow us to renovate our 5th floor family room in the hospital beginning January 2014. This room will be such a wonderful respite for all the families of children being treated on that floor, in an environment that will remind families of the comfort in their home.”

Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals

An alliance of premier hospitals for children, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals is dedicated to saving and improving the lives of children by raising funds for more than 170 hospitals in North America. The network’s partner hospitals receive proceeds from donations made in each of their communities through more than 70 corporate sponsors. Since its inception in 1983, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals has raised more than $2.7 billion for children’s hospitals in the United States and Canada.

Hasbro Children’s Hospital

A private, not-for-profit institution, Hasbro Children’s Hospital is the pediatric division of Rhode Island Hospital. Rhode Island Hospital is the principal teaching hospital of The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University and a founding member of Lifespan. In 2011, the hospital received more than $55 million in external research funding.

RE/MAX of New England

Since its inception in 1985, RE/MAX of New England has grown to over 220 offices and 2,700 sales associates throughout Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont, providing franchised residential and commercial real estate services to its franchisees and their real estate professionals.
