Which Candidate Is Most Rhode Island? General Treasurer
Tuesday, August 24, 2010
Candidates for General Treasurer need to be good at the numbers - after all they need to know how to manage the pension system. This year, there are only two candidates for the office and both have pretty impressive resumes. From running a major division at MetLife, Kerry King has been in leadership positions at every turn. His challenger is Democrat Gina Raimondo who went to Harvard, Yale, and was a Rhodes Scholar - pretty impressive, but can she drive from one end of Pawtucket to the other without getting lost?
GoLocal has looked at all the pertinent facts as to how Rhode Island these two highly accomplished, well-educated, and very wealthy individuals are. Take a look at the scoring and those Ivy League degrees don't help Raimondo out in the RI scoring (also who really needs nine years of college anyways?). One caution is that King was not exactly Mr. Full Disclosure as he would not disclose how many years he lived outside of Rhode Island. A tentative win for King as most Rhode Island.
