State GOP to Hold ‘Boot Camp’ for Recruiting Minorities
Friday, June 18, 2010
The state GOP will hold a four-hour workshop tomorrow on how to expand the conservative base of the party by recruiting more minorities.
The event is run by Claver Kamau-Imani, the founder of Raging Elephants.org. His workshop, dubbed a “boot camp,” will reveal “that the demographics in our country are changing to favor minorities, and explains that if we do not start infusing liberty in those communities through educating voters on America's History and Heritage, we will totally lose our country to socialism,” according to a description in a press release issued by the Rhode Island Young Republicans.
The event will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Oaklawn Grange, 42 Wheelock Avenue in Cranston. The workshop is free and includes lunch. Also, the Rhode Island Young Republicans also will host a meet-and-greet with Kamau-Imani 7:30 tonight at Waterplace Restaurant in Providence.
