Special GoLocal and 920 WHJJ Radio Report: Primary Preview

Monday, September 03, 2012

The gloves are off in Rhode Island politics with just a week to go until the primary election. After Anthony Gemma's high-drama press conference lead-up and a week of revelations in the news that call incumbent congressman David Cicilline's ethics into question, the first debate between Gemma and Cicilline was another act of RI political theater. But in just days, Rhode Island's voters will parse the allegations and settle the fight. With this contest and other primary battles on the horizon, GoLocalProv presents Primary Preview: A GoLocal Special Report, co-hosted by Politics Editor Dan McGowan and Features Editor Tracey Minkin, live Tuesday morning September 4th, from 6-8am, and repeating again from 8-10am, on 920 WHJJ radio.

Primary Preview will take a behind-the-scenes look at what's led up to Primary Day in RI, and what's at stake in the vote. Guests scheduled to appear with McGowan and Minkin include Republic congressional candidate Brendan Doherty, who will face the winner of the primary battle, as well as Quest research pollster Victor Profughi, a spokesperson from the Gemma camp and RI Democratic Party spokesman Bill Fischer, among others.

Dan McGowan has closely covered the Gemma/Cicilline race for GoLocal as well as other local races, breaking major stories over the course of the last several months. Tune in for his inside take behind those headlines. The show will take callers from 6-8am at 1-866-920-WJHH.

This is fourth special GoLocal radio report anchored by McGowan and Minkin. 38 Studios: A Special Report examined Curt Schilling's RI-based video grame company, in May.
