Sen. Pichardo Receives Friends of the Network Award from Housing Network

Senator Juan Pichardo has received the Friends of the Network award from the Housing Network of Rhode Island for his support of the organization. The a wad was presented during a ceremony held on May 23 at the Providence G Rooftop.
“It is an honor to receive this award. Public housing is something that has always been near and dear to my heart, and it’s gratifying to see those efforts recognized by Rhode Island Housing. This bond on the ballot will go a long way toward helping people who are still bearing the burden of the housing crisis," said Senator Pichardo.
Pichardo introduced legislation earlier in the session that would provide for a bond referendum which wold authorize the issuance of bonds for affordable housing in the amount of $100,000,000 at the election to be held on November 8.

“The Housing Network wishes to acknowledge your ongoing commitment to the creation of affordable housing opportunities for low income Rhode Islanders and your willingness to put ideals into action with your recent introduction of legislation in support of a $100 million housing bond,” said Melina Lodge, director of programs for the Housing Network.
