Democratic Party Chair Joseph McNamara

Rhode Island Democratic Party Chair, Joseph McNamara. is inviting all interested Democrats to become part of a group of folks who will determine the fate of the next presidential primary and the future of the state's Democratic Party.

“Today is the day you can play a role in the future of our Party, state and country. And all it takes is an hour of your time, once a month, to make that difference, by becoming a member of one of our several Democratic caucuses,” said McNamara.

The Democratic National Committee requires all state party officials to engage Democrats, like women, youth, people with disabilities, LGBTQ, African Americans, Native Americans, Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, and Hispanics.

The role of caucuses is to meet regularly, discuss the role of opportunities of constituency groups, identify potential candidates for local and state offices, and help the party counsel and train candidates. The hour long meetings will take place once a month, with opportunities for special field and media training.
